Ladybird / Lacewing Log

Ladybirds and Lacewings are both natural predators of garden pests like aphids, green/black fly red spiders etc. Encouraging Ladybird / Lacewings into your garden will help to reduce or eliminate the need for use of chemical insecticides.

The internal chamber can be filled through the 2 viewing ports with straw for lacewings, or bark for ladybirds and other insects. This insect habitat provides an insulated overwintering space and serves as an ideal summer retreat.

Siting: Position the box near an aphid problem area preferably in a sheltered position. (click on link) Lacewing and/or Ladybird attractant can be used dependent upon the desired insect.
