Please note: It is quite normal for some initial surface rust to occur whilst the iron is oxidising. This happens shortly after being exposed to the weather, the bath will go red then eventually dulls to a brown which gives it the antique look.

This is not harmful to the birds, so please do not paint the bath with products such as hamerite.
