This project was the result of two keen birdwatchers getting together and wanting to share their hobby with those that have difficulty getting out and about. They plan to set up feeder stations and nesting boxes in the gardens of those people that are either elderly or have a disability and are limited to the house.

Realising the potential of Bird Nest Box cameras in schools, after Stretton Handley Primary School carried out a quite stunning project during Spring and Summer 2007, it was agreed to run a Derbyshire wide project to look at the nesting habits of local birds. The project is being led by Nikki Mahadevan from Stretton Handley C of E Primary school with support from the ICT Curriculum Support Team at John Hadfield House at Matlock.
x18 schools took part in the pilot project in 2008, including infants, juniors, primaries and a special school. A further 16 schools joined the project last year and even more are set to join in this year.
